They've got a blue Christmas with Elvis. But a merry one. Elvis Presley _ dead since 1977 _ is still pulling 'em in.

Shreveport is really doing Elvis proud, there is a museum and there is a life-sized statue bronze of Elvis.

Changing icons (Thursday, January 03, 2008)

Two ingenious artists, two complete opposites. Throughout generations, things such as fashion, technology and government change.

Icons and ICONS, there is a difference. Why isn't Robert Mitchum and Errol Flynn on the posters today? Where's Elizabeth Taylor when Marilyn is so often featured? Elvis Presley is almost always included on new Christnmas Calenders.

A nice Bethlehem story for this time of the year. Ex-movie star Dolores Hart seen with Elvis Presley on the cover of the Elvis Monthly magazine, is now a Prioress at the Abbey Of Regina Laudis, Bethlehem, Connecticut. A Man Who Helped Launch Elvis's Meteoric Career. (Sunday, December 09, 2007)
for us.

In early 1954, Sam Morrison, the Jewish owner of a small record shop in Knoxville, was instrumental in launching the career of a little known Memphis singer by the name of Elvis Presley.

Just about every one Elvis met in the early days of his meteoric career claim they helped launch it. Reading how Elvis switched on lights for a Rabbi reminded me of the time in 1951 when my family shared a house with a Kosher butcher and later in 1955 when I lit the fire for an Orthodox jewish family, on a weekly basis. It's nice to have had something in common with Elvis :-) We all know Bernard Lansky 'Tailor to the King' he chatted with us in his shop in the Peabody Hotel Memphis on a few occasions and was more than willing to sign his autograph.

Elvis in the Holy Land (Sunday, December 09, 2007)
The Elvis Inn in Israel has been generating Elvis stories at regular intervals for many years. We all know why. Newspaper reporters and the rest of the media just love the opportunity to engage in pun fun. Yes we may one day see Peace in the Valley. But let's not get into politics. Elvis avoided commenting on such stuff publicly.
